Government maintenance & Income
Here you can decide which areas you want to annex. You can attempt to annex 2 areas per turn. There are 4 ways to attempt to annex an area:
1- Diplomatic: 10% chance of success / 10% chance locals will be hostile (basic costs: $ 10.000)
2- Trade-agreement: 30% chance of success / 15% chance locals will be hostile (basic costs: $ 7.500)
3- Military presence: 45% chance of success / 25% chance locals will be hostile (basic costs: $ 5.000)
4- Forcefull: 65% chance of success / 50% chance locals will be hostile (basic costs: $ 3.000)
Area prospecting
New conquered areas lack eveything and need to be developed to give you any resource-income.
The first step is to build a road or rail in the area. Once hat is present you can prospect for available resources. If an attempt is succesfull 1 of the prospected production facilities will be placed in the area
It is possible (through research) to increase your chance of prospecting.
Make sure to prospect for the right resources in the right areas. For instance: looking for food in a desert has a lower succes percentage as oil.
If you have successfully prospected a new resource, it will be automatically added to the respective area. Remember that if you want to build more of the same resource there MUST be a road or rail present in the area.
It is NOT allowed to prospect for the same resource in the same turn more then once.
