LAND FORCES

SEA FORCES

Torpedo-Boat: Torpedo Boats are based in a port and will sortie from there. Placing them in a High Sea Fleet is useless. Torpedo Boats have increased defense value when attacking transportships, merchants and amphibious invasions.

Submarine: HQ’s consisting only of submarines will be invisible on the map. Submarines will attack enemy vessels which are in the same seazone. Because of their stealth, submarines will not reveal their identity (nation of origin) when they attack.

Destroyer: Destroyers are the only ships which are capable of detecting and destroying submarines effectively.

Light Cruisers:  The smallest, but also fastest of the big warships. Capable of taking on Destroyers and other small ships as long as they are not outnumbered, Usually used to protect the capital ships against destroyers, torpedo-boats and other ships that can be deadly at close range.

Heavy Cruiser: Bigger then a Light Cruiser with more armor and larger guns, but at the same time smaller then Battleships. Fighting one-on-one against a Battleship a Heavy Cruiser doesn’t stand a chance, but if they outnumber the battleship it’s a different story. Some call Heavy Cruisers the poor Nation’s Battleships as they are much cheaper to build.

Battlecruisers: The capital ship balancing between speed, armor and firepower. Battlecruisers can be very different, some have more firepower, but are lacking in armor, while others have more armor, but are lacking in speed. Depending on the role of your navy you have to decide into which area you want to develop your battlecruisers. While they lack the firepower and armor of the Battleships they are a lot cheaper to build and maintain and having enough of them can be enough to scare a battleship-fleet away.

Battleships: The Biggest warships you are able to build, and also the most expensive. Having a couple of Battleships in your fleet will enable it to start shelling any enemy ship at long range without them being able to fire back. While Battleships can be heavily armored, they lack close-range defence and anti-sub measures and always need protection of destroyers and cruisers. Battleships are the only naval units capable of firing at units/facilities in coastal areas.
